Being the house husband lately certainly has it's perks, one of these of course is getting in games of X-wing on a school night against my son who is ever keen to try and blow my ships up all the time.
Last night he put together an on the fly Scum list and that's the wonderful part of a child's mind is that they're not polluted by a 'meta' or what cards are simply the best in terms of efficiency and points cost.
His list consisted simply of:
I'm sure with the 5 points spare he put in an elite pilot skill of some kind but I can't re-collect what it was.
I was keen to run a list with an updated spin on it. I've previously ran Colonel Jendon in the shuttle with 3 TIE Bombers loaded up to the gills with concussion missiles and proximity mines and whilst I've had moderate success with the list at the end of each game I'm always feeling that more missiles would be better served than mines. Enter Extra Munitions!
Since the release of the TIE Punisher I've been able to come up with this list:
Scimitar Squadron Pilot [Extra Munitions, Concussion Missiles] (22) x 3
Colonel Jendon [Fire-Control System, Weapons Engineer, ST-321] (34)
The game was pretty quick and straight forward. I deployed in a corner and was planning on keeping the TIE Bombers as close to the Shuttle as possible getting target locks but also a bit of target saturation. Oddly enough my son deployed all of his ships directly facing me which I wasn't expecting. We did have a conversation after the game though about his other deployment options and how it may have changed the outcome of the game.
