I was against Zac who I've spotted a few times but never had the opportunity to play against and he brought the following list with all the bells an trinkets:
Han Solo - Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Expose, Millenium Falcon
Keyan Farlander - B-wing/E2, Kyle Katarn, Autoblaster
A very hard hitting list capable of putting some some major red dice in close range however I did feel confident that if I could pull some shots onto the falcon with my shuttle then my the time the aces had dealt with the B-wing then perhaps it wouldn't be a stretch to deal with the falcon. Secondly every time it would use expose it would basically become a Decimator without the hit points.
My list was:
Omicron Group Pilot - Palpatine, Fire Control System, Engine Upgrade
Darth Vader - Title, Advanced Targeting Computer, Predator, Engine Upgrade
Turr Phennir - Veteran Instincts, Autothrusters
From the image above I had won initiative and the only ship I had to place before any of my opponents was the shuttle. I was keen to anchor this into a corner and use it to get some shots with a boost right away. Once Zac's forces were down Vader and Turr took the flank to circle around take out Keyan and then harass Han.
Apologies for the playing surface in this battle report, it was not only horrible on the eyes but makes it difficult to clearly see where the ships are.
Combat sees Turr remove the rest of Solo's shields whilst Vader using the help from the Emperor loses his shields only which could have been a lot worse.
Vader drops Keyan as the advance targeting computer kicks up the damage however I made a mistake here in the combat phase with Vader who took fire from Solo and I should have taken a single hit rather than use my evade token to prevent the damage and trigger Luke Skywalker which ended up doing more hits, very bitter with myself but a lesson for the future!
It was an enjoyable game and it was good to walk away learning something in regards to how events are triggered and I'll certainly remember to be taking a single hit rather than the potential for 3 when Gunner/Luke Skywalker raises their head again. It certainly was an expensive Han Solo build and I'm not sure it paid off (clearly not...).
I was really planning on the Shuttle to play more of a role in the game with the engine upgrade at least allowing it to get into a better position to shoot and chip into the fights at least but it didn't happen for a number of reasons. Firstly asteroid placement hugging the centre was tricky and also having another big ship to contend with meant we were frequently bumping one another in the later rounds. There was a turn there however when Vader finished off the B-wing the shuttle would have had a shot had the Sith lord not come through with his fire power in the unlikely situation of course.
One thing I've been trying to do when playing with Vader is compare his performance with the Inquisitor with autothrusters and other bells and whistles and whilst I like the idea I can't help but feel with the two actions and extra hit point that Vader still might win over for me although I'm really keen to sink my teeth into that tiny ship and play some games when it's finally released.
