Runner up - Nand Torfs
Aside from the bombs, Plasma Torpedoes and Extra Munitions fill out the Torpedo upgrade slots, ensuring Miranda is dangerous from range 2-3. She's capable of spitting out a 5-dice attack with modifications from Guidance Chips and Rey's stacked focus tokens.
Integrated Astromech allows for another hit point when the need arises, giving Biggs a final breath to protect squad mates, and the opponent a jaw-clenching moment of frustration as the rest of the squad remains untouched.
M9-G8 once again provides some dice modification but its capability is amazingly flexible. If Jess target locks an enemy ship that has to target Biggs, suddenly, she increases his survivability. Equally so if Miranda is about to launch a 5-dice Plasma Torpedo attack then a single re-roll of a die might be a very welcome addition.
Pattern Analyzer allows for Jess to use M9-G8 (or any other action for that matter) right before taking a stress token from a manoeuvre. Whether she K-Turns or Talon Rolls into place, she has the reliability to back up the rest of her squad mates and produce results.
It is great to see Nands return in 2017 with a fantastic showing, but most of all what is largely motivating is the fact he hasn't brought a typical Rebel squad build that consists of a large based ship loaded to the gills, or a two-ship build stacking the shield regeneration.
Congratulations Nands for not only playing well, but also for the creativity surrounding the squad.
