Over the weekend I was nearly knocked off my chair as my son approached me for a game of X-Wing. This is the first game we've had together in second edition and was a welcome change from him just wanting to play technology.
I had a long awaited game last night of X-Wing not only dusting off the collection for second edition, but also trying to find my wings I was once very competent at wearing. Plans as they say never survive contact with the enemy.
One of my all time favourite ships for X-Wing, the TIE Punisher has been a massive favourite since its first wave release. Although it wasn't always a squad potential for consideration, second edition pulls no punches in making the TIE Punisher a solid choice to form the backbone for any Galactic Empire squadron.
When I first discovered Star Wars Armada, X-Wing took a back seat. This was towards the end of first edition when it wasn't so much about what your favourite ships were, but if you had all the latest and greatest cards in order to combat the meta.
Recently life and work has played obstacle to consistent updates and posts on my blog. Over the coming weeks and months I plan on getting back to a solid routine of keeping the updates flowing, with battle reports, reviews and updating the sections around the blog. The X-Wing resources section will be taken off-line as it is only applicable for first edition content.
