Finally got a new report up for reading people. Apologies for lack of updates recently.
I managed to have another mid week game with the wife last week and needed something completely different to tackle her XXA list. I had decided to drop the Defenders for now and come back to them at a later date.
Kath Scarlett - calculation, mangler cannon, recon specialist, engine upgrade
4 x Academy Pilots
So a bounty hunter who spits out criticals and a mini swarm. Two things I have no experience with however I was playing around with a build for an imperial bounty hunter and I was pretty disappointed to discover that the scum bounty hunter gains an elite pilot upgrade for a few more squad points over the imperial counter part. Anyway moving on...
Key is to focus as the action every round and then hopefully end up with 2-3 critical shots going down range.
The academy pilots provide support and a distraction throwing the difficult choice of what element of the squad to go after.
Anyway the game was a good result and I walked away with my first victory in a long time against my wife only losing one TIE in the process. I decided not to do a full blown battle report and concentrated fully on the game but I don't know if that made a difference.
I took wedge out first, then cut out Luke. By this stage I'd lost a single ship and Kath was sitting on 1 hull but managed to pull through.
Reviewing the list I think perhaps engine upgrade is a bit of a waste. I used it once through the whole game. Kaths skill came into play once in the opening shots against Wedge but once again it was very situational. It's such a shame that the bounty hunter below Kath doesn't have the elite pilot upgrade because it would free up some more points to add in perhaps a named pilot into the mini swarm.
Having more ships certainly added flexibility and although wife lost I know she's a quick learner so will have a better plan of attack next time we lock horns.
