Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer - Admiral Konstantine, Veteran Gunners, Quad Battery Turrets
2 x Victory II-Class Star Destroyer - Veteran Gunners, Quad Battery Turrets, Disposable Capacitors
Raider I-Class - External Racks, Ordnance Experts
My fleet was heavily based around Nick Griffiths and can be found here.
ISD 9 revealed a navigate command to drop its speed to 2. Todd activates with his VSD '15' on the far side revealing a navigate command, spending it to drop his speed to 1. He burns Disposable Capacitors and uses Veteran Gunners to nail down 5 damage onto my ISD using an accuracy on my brace. I spend a re-direct to move the damage to a flank. Next his ISD activates banking a navigate token. He then unloads with his fire power but I'm 'lucky' to only walk away with a further 4 damage but cop the injured crew critical effect (silly me for parking in front of 3 ships no doubt...). He then crashes into the ship for further damage.
VSD '6' is the final activation for the second turn and I was just hoping my poorly positioned ISD could hold out for the rest of the round, so at least I could get some shots off with it next turn before its untimely demise. It takes 3 damage from the VSD with Todd planting an accuracy result on my brace. The coolant discharge comes up as a critical effect before Maarek Stele and Vader take damage from flak fire. He then crashes into the ISD leaving a very unhealthy capital ship floating in space.
The squadron phase consists of Morna Kee doing 3 damage to VSD '6'.
The Raider reveals a navigate command dropping to speed 3. Disposable Capacitors lights up the limping ISD removing another shield and taking the coolant discharge critical effect.
My final activation, ISD '9' reveals a squadron command. Morna Kee and Zertik Strom put 3 damage onto the Raider, whilst the shooting from the ship does another 2 damage. 3 damage then goes against Todd's ISD from the front arc. I re-gain a shield from the repair token before speeding off and crashing into my barely alive ISD for a single damage card each.
VSD '15' activates next, revealing a well timed focus fire command. He wastes no time and it only takes 2 damage to sneak through and destroy ISD '10'. Todd's ISD activates with another focus fire command. He uses a repair token to re-gain a shield before unloading into my remaining ISD. It takes 7 damage in total and I spend a contain and re-direct token as his accuracy result puts a freeze on my brace. Finally he drops his speed to 1 but ends up crashing into the back of VSD '15'.
In retaliation Todd's ISD reveals a repair command re-gaining 2 shields. My ISD '9' is targeted and suffers 4 damage whilst Maarek Stele takes a single point of damage. Finally the VSD activates revealing a repair command. It puts a further 2 damage onto my ISD. After moving and crashing into a rock the critical effect is life support failure. Morna Kee swoops in and takes away 3 shields from the ISD to close out the turn.
Zertik Strom lands a single point of damage, Vader then whiffs, and its up to Morna Kee to land 2 damage. I roll hit, hit, accuracy and re-roll the accuracy for another hit and the ISD shatters apart.
Even though I'd lost the game, it was a fitting end and I think I sold my fleet as dearly as I could.
Hats off to Todd for his win, he played a methodical game and got the victory.
I'll be using the fleet again for sure but with some changes to squadrons. Even though its difficult to judge the fleet because I haven't face any squadrons as yet, using Admiral Sloane just demands some more blue dice amongst my squadrons.
Thanks for reading, and I'm very interested to hear about other deployment ideas if you are willing to share them.
