I knew this Friday was going to be a short night because I had a pounding headache from being outside for the majority of the high humid 33 degree day, add in some physically demanding work and I wasn't sure if I was going to be much of an opponent.
I settled on taking the Palp/Vader/Juno list which was currently sitting at 4-1 with the notable loss coming at the hands of my son. Craig happily put up his hand for a game and he was running a pretty standard looking Corran Horn and Dash Rendar list. I was confident if I could keep my TIE's in range 1 of the YT-2400 to avoid damage and hopefully catch Corran off guard with the Ion Projector it would go a long way to sealing a victory.
Deployment saw the TIE's sit on the flank of the shuttle and silly asteroid deployment from me saw Juno and Shuttle pour fire onto Corran and Vader separated and went for Dash. Corran ate a few hits dropping some shields and Juno took some fire as well.
The second turn the Shuttle moved to block Corran successfully whilst Vader flanked the ace resulting in massive damage and I think with a direct hit sealing the fate of the Rebel pilot.
The next few turns saw the Shuttle getting as far away as possible from Dash whilst Juno stuck to him like glue staying within range 1 and pouring in the hurt although in a single turn Juno did cop a single damage card for wandering into range 2. Eventually the Shuttle had him in it's firing arc and it was it's 3 red dice that gave this list it's 5th victory.
I was very happy with the performance of the list but there it still lots of areas I can improve on, perhaps not so much in this game but I need to stay focused on a single target before moving onto another as there is nothing worse than something coming back to cause damage on a single hit point.
Thanks for reading.
