So the new list can be found here but is below for ease and whilst all I've done is drop Colonel Vessery and all the upgrades except Predator from Rexler Brath, added in two Delta Squadron Pilots this has allowed for the two points I've required above which I previously didn't have. Some much needed flexibility and firepower.

In terms of flexibility it allows me to have a tiny bit more control over the board and add another 3 red dice to somewhere previously I didn't have. I certainly miss throwing 4 dice with the heavy laser cannon upgrades previously sported on the two named pilots however it's some sort of compromise that had to happen in order to evolve the list (which I'm not entirely convinced is a step forward at this stage).
So far I've ran the list against my better half (which is worthy of another blog entry) and this list has gone 1-2 vs a Chewie/BB list (found here) which granted I designed to really pressure my list from Turn 2 which the sheer amount of firepower is can spit out and of course at Range 3 my precious Defenders aren't gaining an extra green dice unless it's against Chewie and that certainly hurts.
Whilst I'm a bit of a stubborn animal when it comes to giving up on something and being proved wrong this list will always struggle against a ship that can shoot 360 degrees. It doesn't allow the trade mark white K-turn to be used to its full advantage to get behind an opponent that ideally can't return fire.
Still lots of ideas and play testing to be done but at least this weekend a new X-wing player has been joined to the ranks.
