One thing I love with this expansion however and the preview article that FFG have released, is the fact they are drawing upon other lore from their other gaming systems. Some of the new pilots are already included in their Star Wars RPG range, and I think that is a great way of creating some 'cross pollination' amongst the systems but also is a way of ensuring you are left with plenty of creative options when it comes to adding content to a gaming system.
The new title will bring amazing customisation to a ship that was really lacking. Bring able to equip up to three modification cards is nothing short of amazing and will bring it into line with other jousters from the Imperial and Rebel factions. To minimise this hurting the squad bank balance it also ensures that each piece of machinery equipped comes at a point reduction which will be a welcomed change.
Once again, I need to highlight the point of minimal play time with the Kihraxz Fighter, but like many X-Wing players around the world I'm suddenly looking at this ship with a new found respect and anticipation of the expansion dropping.
Secondly, the illicit Ion Discharge has peaked my interest. No doubt this will somehow interact with the Pulsed Ray Shield, but how is exactly the question on every players mind. Will this somehow take away the negative effect of the ion token or turn it into a boon for nearby enemy ships perhaps? How many points will this card be worth?
Lots to think about folks and as always, its a fun time to be playing this wonderful game.
