Attanni Mindlink is something I've never personally used. However, judging by how many times I've read about it and its prevalence in top tier squads around the world, I can see the justification for restricting it. I've no doubt the canny players that are used to using it well, will adapt and overcome.
Genius is a card that simply interacted too well with Captain Nym. Now in order to get something amazing from it you not only have to discard a bomb upgrade card but ensure you didn't bump anything as well. For a 0-point upgrade card, I don't think anyone can be upset at this change. Oddly enough, I still haven't had a good run using the Scurrg Bomber so it's something I need to document and get blogging about!
When it comes to Rebel pilots, none have been as influential in competitive gaming as Biggs Darklighter. The ability to paint a juicy big red target that the opponent simply couldn't ignore would allow the rest of your forces (and often a Ghost shooting twice...) to dismantle your squad. Time have changed and once again for good reason. Just about every top tier Rebel build included Biggs so it's not a bad thing to change the state of the game up. He's been restricted to once per game now so it will be interesting to see if he even gets included any more at future events.
Finally and the major change everyone has been talking about is the reduction in potency of the Jumpmaster 5000. This is the first time that FFG have removed upgrades from ship cards which is a bold move on their part. It certainly takes the edge off Dengar, however he is still no doubt a force to be reckoned with.
I am certainly happy with the changes but am keen to hear how they've effected your squad builds, or recent gaming experiences. At least FFG is taking a proactive approach to keeping the game balanced. Of course, B-Wings are still garbage, as are TIE Punishers unfortunately so no changes there!
