Don't get me wrong, I love bombers. The TIE Punisher although sucks, I do love the idea of it. Immediately when I spotted Trajectory Simulator in the Resistance Bomber expansion, I wondered if this would make Deathrain any more playable. The answer is probably not, but I'm sure the fun factor is increased.
This article is going to be a little backwards because I want to cover this. When combined with the new bomber, and Ordnance Silos you can have up to 3 of the following:
Taking a look at the ship, the first thing that jumps out is the abundance of hull points. However, the flip side is it is a large based ship, and secondly its pitiful agility value of 1.
The design of this ship allows for them to launch bombs at the enemy as they come toward, survive the first wave, and then thanks to the firing arc they're able to move away whilst firing and dropping further bombs to those behind them.
FFG have alluded to the limitations of the ships manoeuvre dial, already the 1-turn has a stress token attached to it, and possibly will have a '0' move as well.
The title card is interesting and rewards tight compact play allowing the Bombers and other Resistance ships (YT-1300, T-70 X-Wing) to increase their survivability.
The jury is still out on this one and I'm way more excited for the TIE Silencer but, thanks for reading as per usual!
